These are a cornerstone of sanitation in my hotel survival kit. Hotel rooms can hide germs in unexpected places, like TV remotes, light switches, and door handles. Studies have shown these specific items can be quite dirty sand nasty. I use small antibacterial wipes to quickly sanitize these high-touch areas when I first arrive in my room.

I also make sure to give the faucets and toilet seat a wipe upon arrival and after any room cleaning service since the rags and brushes they use can have a lot of cross contamination. It only takes a minute or two, and I feel so much more at ease knowing I’ve given these spots an extra clean.
